I am licensed and certified in both mental health and addictions and integrate treatment of these issues. I specialize in addiction to pain medication, marijuana, tobacco, and opiates.

I am a cross-trained, credentialed, and experienced Advanced Addictions and mental health Couselor. My practice specializes in counseling of addictions and mental health in an integrated and holistic way.

I hold masters degrees in both Social Work and Pyschology, and an undergraduate degree in Community Health Education. I am a certified Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist, a member of the National Association of Social Workers and a member of the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association.

I have been working in counseling and psychotherapy, psycho-education, social work, school social work, training, education and research for the past 20 years.

My most recent experiences include: Counseling; Emergency Clinician with Southern Vermont Medical Center; Crisis Stabilization; Dual Diagnosis program Senior Community Social Work-OP and residential; School Social Work; Consultant; Trainer; Educator; Researcher and research design.

Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist:

This is a very effective, evidence based, adjunctive treatment for those considering or actively trying to cut down and/or quit nicotine, alcohol, caffeine or other drugs. Auricular acupuncture can also relieve acute or chronic pain, reduce stress and anxiety and bring back balance to your system.

Education:

Basically. psycho-education with individuals and groups is an evidence based positive support to counseling, therapy, relaspe prevention and medication therapy. In a discussion format we exchange factual information, share strategies and skills, and support each other, concerning addictions, mental health, medication and other topics.

Training and Research:

For schools, churches, local government, protective services, health, business and other community agencies and groups: Alcohol, tobacco, and other drug information, workshops, presentations, consulting, designing or assisting with research projects; and Co-Occuring training for mental health or substance abuse clinicians and agency staff
